Buying and selling scrap gold can be a fairly profitable business, if you do it right. It doesn’t really matter if you buy or sell: on both sides of the fence there’s profit to be made, depending on what the market does. And of course, in order for you to buy scrap gold, there must be a second party who is selling it. And in order for you to sell scrap gold, there must be… a second party who has decided to buy it! In this trade it’s a good idea to have some insight in the other position. Let us look at the sellers point of view - after all, being a dealer, be it amateur or professional, you may every now and then find yourself with a bit too much of the yellow stuff in your safe. So: are you looking for ways through which you can make some extra money? Have you considered selling scrap gold?
Gold is always a good investment. You can make a nice little profit selling gold, and you don’t have to own big bars of it to make much profit. Most of us already have gold in various forms called scrap gold or gold scrap. This can be anything from old broken jewelry, cluster rings, gold bullion, gold wire, gold dental crowns, etc. The nice thing about selling gold for scrap is that you don’t have to worry about issues like condition, because it is never going to be used as it is anyway. The main characteristic of any scrap, including scrap gold, is that it needs to be recycled before it is used.
The common reason for selling gold scrap is to make some extra money off things that gather dust and lie hidden in the chest. Restoring most damaged gold objects like old jewelry usually is not economical, so selling off the damaged items as scrap gold is a much more productive idea. Even when the scrap gold dealers margin is deducted, you will undoubtedly be making a nice little profit on your broken gold objects or jewelries that are a few years old, as the cost should have increased since the time you bought the objects. It’s also possible to extract gold from things like computer mother boards, broken cell phones, all kinds of gold plated products, etcetera. Truly: there’s gold in them thar scraps!
